This annual conference of the National Obesity Forum (www.nationalobesityforum.org.uk) was well attended by a variety of individuals with a professional interest in the subject.

A number of high profile presentations were given on such topics as:

  • obesity in children;

  • obesity and cardiovascular disease;

  • obesity and the role of salt in the diet;

  • fitness and activity;

  • the role of weight loss groups;

  • meal replacements;

  • responsible food marketing;

  • awards to groups who had promoted weight loss programmes to different groups.

There was a useful exhibition of organisations and products related to weight loss and fitness.
