Fairtrade nut snacks launched

Article Type: Food Facts From: Nutrition & Food Science, Volume 38, Issue 3.

A new range of Fairtrade nuts have been launched by the forces behind Cafedirect. Twin trading and equal exchange have brought liberation nut snacks to shops and on the web for the run up to Christmas. Mixed nuts and peanuts have come from farmers in Malawi, Mozambique, Nicaragua and India in four different flavours: natural, lemon and a hint of chilli, lightly salted and a hint of smoked flavour. They will first be sold at Oxfam shops, online at www.ethicalsuperstore.co, and at a range of other retail outlets and will be available in supermarkets from early 2008.
