  • role of endocrine disruptors.

The main conference consisted of a number of concurrent sessions including:

  • a debate on obesity;

  • obesity treatment;

  • adipose tissue growth and metabolism;

  • issues in children;

  • psychology;

  • adolescence;

  • clinical guidelines;

  • co-morbidities;

  • metabolic syndrome;

  • lifestyle changes;

  • motivation; and

  • public health.

There were workshops and also debates as well as ample time for questions and discussion.

The conference was accompanied by an exhibition of products, equipment, foods and treatments related to obesity.

One of the excellent facets of the conference was the number of poster presentations from researchers all over the world.

Overall this was a really world class conference enabling those with an interest in obesity to learn more about what is happening in the management of the condition world-wide.

The 17th European Congress on Obesity is to be held in Amsterdam on 6-9th May 2009.
