11 a.m. most popular time for a coffee break

Article Type: Food facts - January 2010 From: Nutrition & Food Science, Volume 40, Issue 2.

Every morning 17 million Brits brew a fresh cup of coffee at 11 a.m., nationwide research from Lyons Coffee reveals. The survey of 1,000 UK adults shows mid morning is the optimum time for a drink, breaking up the morning so you can last until lunchtime. The second most popular time for a mug of hot coffee is early in the morning at 10 a.m., highlighting the need for a pick me up to kickstart the day. Mid afternoon, just around the time energy levels are flagging, is also a good time for a coffee break according to 7 per cent of people surveyed.
