The Social Responsibility Research Network

Article Type: The Social Responsibility Research Network From: Social Responsibility Journal, Volume 9, Issue 3

The Social Responsibility Research Network (SRRNet) is a body of scholars who are concerned with the social contract between all stakeholders in global society and consequently with the socially responsible behavior of organizations, or with any aspect of this broad subject area.

The network was formed in 2003 after the success of the first International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility. Since then we have continued to grow and there are currently around 800 members based all over the world. And we have continued to develop our activities in the areas of organizing conferences and publishing.

The main reason for the existence of the network however is to enable us as scholars concerned with various aspects of social responsibility to communicate with each other, share information, join together in research projects, develop courses and course material and various other activities.

Our mission is to promote collaborative, cross-cultural and international research on any aspect of its social responsibility agenda, to disseminate such research globally and to improve knowledge.

To accomplish this mission we do these activities:

  • The exchange of research through of its website.

  • The promotion and organization of an annual series of international research conferences, in various parts of the world.

  • The production and dissemination of Social Responsibility Journal.

  • The production of the book series Developments in Corporate Governance and Responsibility

  • The production of such other publications as Social Responsibility Review and the Discussion Paper series.

Membership is open to anyone. It is a formally constituted organization governed by a constitution and managed by a nominated board. The management of the network will be delegated to this board, which will be supplemented by a general meeting, open to all members, which will take place at each conference organized.

Full details of SRRNet and details of how to join can be found at the website www.socialresponsibility.biz
